Pastor Paul joined our staff as Senior Pastor in August of 2013. Native of Pennsylvania, Pastor Paul and his wife Miriam (his high-school sweetheart) have been very happily married since 1968. Together they have four children, their oldest,Katherine, is a multiple-handicapped adult who is under the care of her loving parents.
Pastor's calling to the ministry was a mid-life career change. Originally a marketing sales rep, God called Paul into full-time ministry in the early 80s. During that time Paul enrolled into Dallas Theological Seminary, graduating in five years with his Master's in Theology in 1991.
Pastor Paul preaches most Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and oversees all Boards and Committees in the church.
Daniel Murphy grew up in TBC with a thirst for the Word at a young age and fully submitted to the grace and lordship of Christ in his early twenties. After a period of necessary hardship and spiritual examination, Dan obeyed the call of God into the gospel ministry. In July 2015, he was called to be pastor of Children's Ministries.
In 2013, Dan graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Religion. A committee of godly men affirmed Dan's call to ministry and ordained him in August 2018. In addition, Dan serves the South River community as a lunch aide and crossing guard for the local elementary school.
Dan met his wife, Katie, through TBC's young adult and youth groups and married in March 2014. They have three children together: Hannah, Peter, and Eliana.
Dan currently preaches monthly, leads the Cruisin' Kids Thursday Night ministry, leads the Children's Church ministry, and serves on the Elder Board.
Jimmy (James) and April have been on staff with Tabernacle Baptist since 2008. Originally a helper under previous youth pastors, Jimmy began pursuing his Bachelors of Religion at Liberty University Online. During that time he took over the youth and young adult groups with an emphasis on evangelism and reaching the surrounding community.
In 2013, Jimmy graduated from LUO and was certified as a counselor. From there he began mentoring under Pastor Paul and in October of 2014 was ordained.
Jimmy and April met while working retail and began dating after Jimmy accepted Jesus as his Savior. In 2006 they were married at Tabernacle and in 2011 they welcomed Anya into their family.
Pastor Jimmy preaches on the occasional Sunday Morning, leads the Driven Teen group, and serves on the Elder Board.
Roy serves alongside our pastors on the Elder board of TBC. Texas born and raised, Roy has a God-filled backstory. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a toddler and his parents were told he would never graduate High School.
Through the grace of God, Roy went on to graduate from the College of Biblical Studies with his Bachelors in Biblical Counseling in 2011.
He and his wife, Susie, met in 2013 while his step-father was a pastoral candidate at TBC. Though his family was called to a Michigan church instead, Roy and Susie kept in touch and married in 2014.
2015 brought the birth of their daughter, Abigail, along with their move back to New Jersey and joining TBC.
Roy serves not only on the Elder board, but with the Cruisin' Kids ministry, Driven Teen ministry, Children's Church, and is the current Chairman of the Missions Committee.
A/V & I.T.
Susie began attending TBC originally in 2000 with her parents and siblings. Over the years the church family has not only watched her grow up, supported her through the passing of her parents, and watched as God brought her and Roy together.
Administration is certainly one of the spiritual gifts that Susie has been blessed to receive. She serves in many different areas; Secretary of the Trustee Board, Secretary/Treasurer of the Missions Committee, Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Church Historian, Director of A/V, and IT Administration.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Susie jumped on board to ensure that Sunday service could continue through live stream with very little change to the format.
